Man United players are reportedly pushing to have the club appoint Mauricio Pochettino as the permanent manager.

United are currently in the market in search of a substantive manager who will take charge of the club at the end of the ongoing season.

Pochettino's name has often been floated for the Old Trafford job and was at one time touted as a possible successor to Jose Mourinho before United opted for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.

Rangnick holds a different view

Despite United players having an admiration for Pochettino, the club's interim boss Ralf Rangnick is said to be holding a different view.

Rangnick, who was appointed manager on a temporary basis is expected to play an influential role in United's hunt for a permanent boss.

The German tactician is believed to favour a move for Ajax boss Ten Hag who has been fantastic for the Dutch giants.

Ten Hag is believed to match the Red Devils' requirements for an ideal manager - including playing attractive football and regularly challenging for silverware.
