Brentford vs Man United Premier League meeting saw the Red Devils bounce back to winning ways as Ralf Rangnick's men hammered the Bees 3-1 at the Brentford Community Stadium.
The Wednesday night, January 19, clash saw United welcome Cristiano Ronaldo back to the fold after the Portugal star missed the club's last two games with a hip injury.
The Red Devils were desperate to use the tie to return to winning ways having been held to a disappointing draw against Aston Villa during their last outing.
Despite having a relatively slow start, United had their first goalscoring chance after 10 minutes of action through Anthony Elanga whose header across goal failed to find the back of the net.
The hosts had four golden chances shortly after, but none went through as David de Gea, who was in top shape fended off the danger to ensure the half ends all square.
However, upon the resumption of the second half, the visitors burst into action and had their efforts rewarded in the 55th minute when Elanga broke the deadlock with a brilliant header.
Mason Greenwood doubled the advantage in the 62nd minute, with Ronaldo playing an important role in the build before Bruno Fernandes set up the youngster.
Rangnick rung a double change moments later, introducing Marcus Rashford and Harry Maguire in place of Ronaldo and Greenwood.
Rashford had an immediate impact as he took the game beyond the hosts in the 77th minute with a stunning finish off Bruno's well-placed pass.
Ivan Toney scored Brentford's consolation with five minutes left on the clock as the tie ended 3-1 in favour of United.
