Man United have reportedly entered talks over the possibility of signing Borussia Dortmund star, Dan-Axel Zagadou.
Zagadou's deal with the Bundesliga giants is set to expire at the end of the ongoing season, meaning he is free to pen a pre-contract agreement with foreign clubs.
Metro UK now reports the Red Devils are exploring the possibility of bringing him to Old Trafford on a free transfer in the summer and have already begun talks with his agent, Moussa Sissoko.
However, United may face a significant hurdle in that attempt, with French outlet, FootMercato, reporting Dortmund are keen to keep the former PSG youth star who has managed just seven appearances for the club this season.
It is understood Dortmund have already initiated discussions with Zagadou to renew his deal, but his future at the club remains in doubt.
Incidentally, Zagaou is not the only player United have been linked with as interim manager Ralf Rangnick looks to bolster his squad.
River Plate goalscoring sensation Julian Alvarez, Marseille midfielder Boubacar Kamara, and RB Leipzig's Amadou Haidara have all been linked.
Strengthening the central midfield position has already been identified as a key priority.
