Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola has spoken for the first time on the scandal involving his player over a video released to the public.

English defender Kyle Walker was the week's talking point for a public act of indecency at a mall in Manchester between 5:30 pm and 7:00 pm on Sunday.

As reported by Sun UK, Walker's act was caught by CCTV as he appeared intoxicated and was involved in a dirty dance with a woman, who is not his wife, in the company of some male friends.

Speaking ahead of the weekend's game away to Crystal Palace, Pep refused to divulge details of the incident, insisting it is a private issue that should be sorted internally.

“It's a private issue, we solve it internally, speak with him. This is not the place to speak about a private situation,” he said, as quoted by Mirror UK.

He also sounded a warning to the other squad members to be aware of their status in society and know that the moment they are out in public, they are in the face of public scrutiny.

“Definitely. It's a bit different now. They know it. When you open the door at home they need to know they will be filmed whatever they do. That is society,” he added.

Cheshire Police confirmed the incident in a statement. The England international could face up to two years in jail and also incur a heavy fine if he is charged and found guilty.

Sports Brief earlier reported that football fans have urged Walker's wife to dump him after the embarrassing incident with another woman.

Annie Kilner is yet to comment on the issue but has been making a series of cryptic posts on Instagram, some of which she has deleted.

They have three sons together and have split twice over cases of infidelity since they got married in 2019, one of which was another woman giving birth to a child for the football star.
