The Premier League hit Manchester City with 115 Financial Fair Play breaches in an investigation that took four years and covered the club's financial dealings between 2009 to 2018.

The club has maintained its innocence and blamed the charges on jealousy from other clubs who have pushed that their books be vetted. The charges will now be re-investigated by an independent judicial panel.

One of the recommended punishments for the Citizens is that they are stripped of the titles they won during the years under investigation and also be ejected from the league if those changes were proven right.

Guardiola mocks Gerrard's slip

As reported by The Football Faithfuls, Steven Gerrard slipped during a Premier League game against Chelsea, and Demba Ba capitalised. The Reds lost 2-0 and consequently lost the title to Manuel Pellegrini's Manchester City.

Amidst calls for Pep Guardiola's men to be stripped of their six Premier League titles, the Spaniard hit back at rivals claiming their moments can not be taken away.

“Some moments belong to us - they absolutely belong to us regardless of the sentence,” he said in an interview quoted by Mirror UK.

Liverpool and Manchester United will benefit from three titles apiece if City are stripped, leading Guardiola to throw a shot at former Liverpool captain Steven Gerrard that they are not responsible for his slip.

Guardiola pledges loyalty to City

Shortly after the charges against the club were announced, Pep's old comments surfaced where he claimed he would walk away if he found out the club's hierarchy lied to him.

He however pledged loyalty to the club despite the charges claiming he would not stand up from the seat and would continue to be the manager even if the club is ejected from the league, as earlier reported by Sports Brief.

The former Barcelona manager is aiming for his fifth league title in England and are currently six points behind Arsenal, managed by his former assistant manager Mikel Arteta.
