A fake petition of fans allegedly requesting that Haaland is removed from the Premier League, has been doing the rounds on social media.

According to the Daily Star, rival fans have expressed anguish about facing the Man City hotshot following his scintillating run of form.

The 22-year-old has had a bright start to life since joining City in the summer from Borussia Dortmund.

Haaland's own teammate, Aymeric Laporte also appears to agree that the goal hunter needs to be tamed.

Laporte has endorsed the petition, with the City defender uploading his screenshot to Twitter with the ‘Premier League’ scribbled out and ‘football’ written in its place.

The title of it now reads: ’Petition to have Erling Haaland removed from football for being a robot.’
