Man City winger Riyad Mahrez had led tribute for Algerian midfielder, Bille Benhammouda, who died in a tragic road accident.
The 24-year-old is understood to have been involved in the accident shortly after featuring for the Algeria national football team.
According to Goal, Benhammouda was part of Algeria's squad which hammered DR Congo 3-0 in an international friendly.
The publication reports the player, who turns out for USM Alger was in incredible shape during the match as he scored one of the three goals.
However, unknown to many, this would be the last time they would see Benhammouda in action as the footballer died hours after the match.
Local reports indicate that the footie star was on his way home in the company of an unidentified friend when he met his death.
