FootballManchester City Star Kevin De Bruyne Picks Real Madrid’s Eden Hazard Over David Silva
- Manchester City midfielder Kevin De Bruyne was presented with a dilemma when he was asked to choose between Eden Hazard and David Silva
- De Bruyne has played with both players and ended up choosing Hazard, saying that the Real Madrid man has qualities that no one else has
- David Silva enjoyed a fine period of success with De Bruyne at Manchester City before eventually leaving for Real Sociedad in 2020
Star midfielder Kevin De Bruyne has explained that he will choose Eden Hazard over David Silva. De Bruyne was put on the spot to choose between who of the two great players he’d rather have.
He played with David Silva for over four seasons at Manchester City, forming a wonderful midfield partnership. He has also played, and continues to play, with Eden Hazard at the international level in Belgium colours.
De Bruyne called Hazard a special player despite his current struggles. Hazard has failed to hit top form since joining Real Madrid in 2018. He has struggled with a niggling ankle injury that has prevented him from replicating his Chelsea form.
At Chelsea, he was a constant top performer and one of the best players in the Premier League. In a video spotted by Sports Brief, De Bruyne stuck with the Belgian captain, although he admitted that that was a trick question.
I’m gonna say Eden. Eden is special. When he was on it he was on it. I think David was probably more consistent. Eden has qualities that not a lot of players in the world have.
Hazard was already turning out for Belgium when De Bruyne made his debut in August 2010 against Finland. They have been the cornerstone of the Red Devils team that is famously referred to as the Golden Generation.
Belgium is, however yet to win any trophy, with its best performance being a third-place finish at the FIFA World Cup in Russia. Hazard was voted the second-best player after Luka Modric.
