Sundowns then doubled the lead in the 33rd minute courtesy of a simple movement within the Pirates' box that Grant Kekana converted. Hardly a blink later, Cassius Mailula effectively ended the match as a contest with another easy goal to make it three, with Mpontshane all at sea.
Cassius Mailula then made it 4-0 in the 67th minute once the match had turned into a training session for the ruthless team from Pretoria with a simple shot from outside the box as the Pirates defenders backed off him. With that goal, the record for the most goals in a single Carling Black Label Cup match was broken.
