Tshakhuma Tsha Madzivhandila (TTM) will face Marumo Gallants in the semi-final of the Nedbank Cup, but the side is disappointed not to have played Mamelodi Sundowns.
Royal AM will instead take on Masandawana in the second semi-final of the competition.
TTM coach, Lucky Nelukau, was confident, though, that his side could have beaten Sundowns if drawn against them, KickOff reported
"I didn't have a problem if we had to be drawn against Sundowns. I wanted to knock them out of the competition. I wanted them now,” he said.
Nelakau, who made headlines for his choice of attire during the game against SuperSport United, said he had confidence that his boys would have got the job done.
"My boys are hungry and they want to bring the trophy back to Tshakuma.”
TTM did knock out Mamelodi Sundowns in the cup last season, beating them on penalties in the semi-final, Sport24 reported. TTM then went on to beat Chippa United in the final to lift the trophy. The team was then sold and became Marumo Gallants.
Tshakhuma coach explains eye-catching military wear against Supersport United
There were sensations of sorts on and off the pitch in the thrilling Nedbank Cup quarterfinal between Tshakhuma Tsha Madzivhandila and SuperSport United last Friday in Thohoyandou, Sports Brief earlier reported.
The National First Division side turned around a 0-2 deficit against their illustrious Premier Soccer League opponents, sealing a 3-2 victory in extra time. This booked their spot in the semifinals against another Limpopo side in the form of Marumo Gallants.
However, coach Lucky Nelukau and his assistants' attire on the sidelines was probably more memorable. The crew was kitted out in full military attire that must have confused spectators in the stands and viewers at home.
