The Brazilians, who top the DStv Premiership standings, take on Richards Bay FC, who currently top the GladAfrica Championship log, in a round of 32 clash.

While Sundowns are favourites going into the game, co-coach Manqoba Mngqithi has warned his charges not to underestimate the opposition, Sport24 reported.

Richards Bay FC has earned the reputation of being 'giant killers' and knocked out Kaizer Chiefs from the tournament, KickOff reported.

Who is Richards Bay FC?

Richards Bay FC was formed in 2017 after Thanda Royal Zulu sold their status to Amazulu. Thanda Royal Zulu had secured promotion to the Premier Soccer League while Amazulu had finished fifth. Amazulu then bought the franchise and therefore the Premier Soccer League status. Richards Bay FC was then formed in the area and is owned by Jomo Biyela.

Sundowns are currently the runaway leaders in the DStv Premiership and are defending MTN 8 Champions. The Brazilians will be hoping to add the Nedbank Cup to the trophy cabinet.

Fans of Bafana Ba Style will be hoping to see some of the new faces get game time during today's encounter. The Brazilians enjoyed a successful transfer window and could hand debuts to Teboho Mokoena and Surprise Ralani

Kaizer Chiefs coach Stuart Baxter admits that Mamelodi Sundowns' buying power disturbed their transfer plans

In other news relation to the Brazilians, Kaizer Chiefs coach Stuart Baxter hinted tellingly that Mamelodi Sundowns disrupted their transfer dealings during the January window, Sports Brief reported.

Kaizer Chiefs came under heavy criticism from fans for a disappointing showing during the transfer market, bringing in no players. Chiefs instead were forced to renew the contracts of seven players.

Baxter's annoyance comes in the wake of the highly-rated former SuperSport player Teboho Mokoena being snatched from the Amakhosi's clutches by Masandawana last month, as reported on Goal.com.
