FootballMamelodi Sundowns Sign Midfielder Teboho Mokoena, Fans Upset That Masandawana Are Killing the Competition
- Mamelodi Sundowns are set to announce the signing of Teboho Mokoena from Supersport United in the coming days
- Masandawana have bolstered their midfield options by signing another highly sought-after midfielder
- Fans on social media believe that Sundowns are killing off the competition by signing all the talented players
Mamelodi Sundowns are expected to announce the signing of another midfielder in the coming days as Teboho Mokoena joins from Supersport United.
Mokoena has the been topic of much transfer talk in January and attracted interest from Anderlecht in Belgium as well.
But as The South African reports, it's the Brazilians who won the race for the highly sought-after midfielder. According to Front Runner Sports though, Mamelodi Sundowns have 14 midfield options signed to the club already.
It's for this reason that many have accused the club of killing off the competition on social media. While some fans have defended Sundowns, others want the Premier Soccer League to put in a clause to stop teams monopolising all the talent.
@BhenguSmiso:
"WOW, good signing for Downs, clearly no team can do what Sundowns is doing. You cannot blame teams unless they are owned by a billionaire. Business-wise, Downs is operating at a loss with money they spent on salaries and signing fees, but it's their money."
@Luzuko89818600:
"It seems Sundowns can have more than 100 players if they want, they don't care whether they are going play or not, just sign them, that doesn't make our league competitive."
@_sunogo:
"SA players lack ambition man,yerr. Imagine choosing Downs over Anderletgt. Goodbye to your career, till we see you again in the media complaining about game time, you will always be remembered as one of the best CMs."
@MANGALISOsmingo:
"Ey bro, those ones can even sign Joe Biden if he can be used to eliminate competition in PSL."

FootballIn other South African football-related news, with the transfer season coming to a close at the end of this month, numerous Premier Soccer League (PSL) clubs are trying to conduct last-minute transfer deals.
Royal AM and Bafana striker Victor Letsoalo is one of those players who has often been scouted by numerous clubs and Kaizers Chiefs have always expressed interest in the player, Sports Brief earlier reported.
Royal AM CEO Sinky Mnisi issued a hilarious warning to Kaizer Chiefs though saying that they would need to pay the asking price for the player if they wanted to sign him. According to The South African, Mnisi described Letsoalo as a Rolls Royce who wouldn't be sold for the price of a Mazda 323.
