Mohamed Salah has become Liverpool's all-time top scorer in the English Premier League after scoring a brace in the massacre of Manchester United at Anfield.

The Egyptian forward scored twice to equal and break Robbie Fowler's 128 goals haul in the English league for the Reds.

Salah has now netted 129 goals in 203 Premier League games since joining the club in 2017 from Fiorentina.

Meanwhile, Anfield rained goals for the Reds with winter signing Cody Gakpo and Uruguayan strike Darwin Nunez each scoring a brace. Fiminho completed the victory late into the game.

Salah has been key to Liverpool's success in recent times, helping the club to the 2019/20 English Premier League title.

Last season, together with Senegalese forward Sadio Mane, the duo won the domestic double of FA Cup and EFL Cup with the Reds.

Salah extended his contract with the Merseyside outfit last summer to June 2025.

Liverpool are gradually clawing their way back into the top four after a torrid campaign so far.

Salah floors Martinez

Earlier, Sports Brief reported that Mohamed Salah turned Lisandro Martinez inside out to set up Cody Gakpo for Liverpool's third goal against Manchester United at Anfield.

Liverpool brought their A-game for the crunch tie against a resurgent Erik ten Hag side on March 5th.

January signing Cody Gakpo, who was ironically supposed to join Manchester United, scored twice with Darwin Nunez adding another inside the game's first hour.

Liverpool thrash Manchester United

Cody Gakpo, Darwin Nunez and Mohamed Salah all scored twice as Liverpool shrugged off a season of frustration to thrash Manchester United 7-0 at Anfield on Sunday.

Jurgen Klopp's men set a new record margin of victory in the clash between English football's two most successful clubs.

Just a second defeat in 23 games in all competitions realistically ends United's hopes of a first league title in a decade as they remain 14 points adrift of leaders Arsenal in third.
