Liverpool legend Gerrard offered Poland national team job
FootballSteven Gerrard Set to Miss Out on Top Managerial Job Because "He Lacks Experience."
- Steven Gerrard was heavily linked with the Poland managerial job.
- The Liverpool legend was sacked by Aston Villa after a torrid run of results and replaced by Unai Emery.
- But it seems he will miss out on the Poland job because the Polish FA feels he lacks the required experience.
Former Liverpool ace Steven Gerrard is set to miss out on the Poland managerial job because of his lack of experience at an international level is a huge blow to him.
The former midfielder emerged as a shock favourite to replace former Poland coach Czeslaw Michniewicz who vacated his position after the Qatar World Cup.
Gerrard was among a list of big names on the shortlist, however, following developments as they unfold, it looks as if he might miss out on being appointed as Poland's manager.
As reported on Sunsport, Polish Football Association supremo Cezary Kulesza recently revealed the country’s FA is in the hunt for a manager who has some degree of experience on the international front.

"The candidate is from abroad.” He said in a recent appearance on RMF FM.
"I would like the decision to be made today or tomorrow, but it depends on the other party.”
Poland’s intentions to have a manager with international experience effectively rules out Gerrard, who has only had two solid managerial roles at club level.
He developed his reputation in the Scottish top tier with Rangers before making the move to the Premier League with Aston Villa.
The 42-year-old Gerrard was open to taking the job, which would have seen him not only ramp up his salary but gain experience at an international level.
Former Poland coach Zbigniew Boniek also ruled out the possibility of the country appointing Gerrard.
According to Boniek, Gerrard knew little to nothing about the Poland national team hence he would not make an ideal candidate.
