English football is the first to return for club action barely days after the conclusion of the Qatar 2022 FIFA World Cup where many Premier League stars played for their countries and are yet to return to their clubs.
Rivals, Liverpool and Manchester City will battle it out tomorrow in the round of 16 of the League cup famously referred to as the Carabao Cup, and the managers have been speaking to the media.
Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp was represented at the press conference by his assistant Pep Lijnders, as revealed by Mirror. The German has been delegating domestic up competition media duties to his assistant.
The Dutch was faced with a question regarding how Liverpool will fare in the winter transfer market, and he did not like it very much, he dismissed it and asked that Klopp be asked when next he's on presser.

Lijnders shuts down transfer talks
The January transfer window opens in about 10 days and Liverpool are expected to make one or two signings or secure deals ahead of the summer, when asked during the press conference, Lijnders was tight-lipped.
In a video made available by Football Daily, the Dutch claimed he is not in a position to answer the question and that Klopp be asked when next he sits.
“This is the press room, not the board room. We discuss these things in the board room. Next time when Jürgen [Klopp] sits here - ask him.” he said.
