Conor McGregor has declared interest in buying Liverpool after the club was reportedly put up for sale by American owners Fenway Sports Group.
McGregor confirmed via his official Twitter handle that he would be interested in taking over the Merseyside club.
He was responding to a fan who dared him to buy Liverpool.
"'I WOULD LOVE IT! I requested my information on this, yes. Soon as I heard. What a turn of events! What a club!"

The Irishman is, however, a known Manchester United fan and it would be interesting if he were to take over United's sworn rivals.
He also does not have the capacity to take over Liverpool on his own but could get into a partnership with other people. Celebrity Networth previously listed his networth as 200 million USD. Liverpool is valued at approximately 4 billion USD.
McGregor has been absent from competitive action since his high-profile loss to Dustin Poirier in 2021. The 34-year-old, whose nickname is Notorious, is a former double featherweight and lightweight champion.
Other potential buyers of Liverpool are British richest man Sir Jim Ratcliffe who is said o have disqualified himself. Ratcliffe has set his eyes on improving the fortunes of Ligue 1 club Nice.
FSG invited offers
Sports Brief had earlier reported that Liverpool are looking for new owners after Fenway Sports Group (FSG), the current owners, put out a full presentation for interested parties.

FootballFSG tried to sell the club in the past but pulled out, and it remains to be seen if they can get a deal done if a suitable buyer bids.
FSG bought Liverpool in 2010 from Americans George Gillett Jnr and Tom Hicks, who bought it in 2007 for £218.9 million.
