Former Liverpool forward El Hadji Diouf has been spotted showboating during a community game in Senegal.

The 41-year-old, who retired from the game seven years ago, returned to the pitch by joining a street soccer game.

In a video posted on social media, the former Senegal winger displayed skills that epitomized his playing days.

Diouf, in the heat of the game, is seen ball juggling with the side of his foot before cleverly outwitting his marker, drawing applause from spectators.

The Senegal football legend is revered in his native country after leading the West Africans to the finals of the 2002 Africa Cup of Nations. He also starred in the famous Teranga Lions team that reached the quarter-finals of the World Cup in the same year.

He also enjoyed a stellar club career despite having found himself in many controversies, playing for the likes of Sochaux, Lens and Liverpool.

Diouf given warm Ghanaian welcome

Earlier, Sports Brief reported that legendary Senegalese footballer El Hadji Diouf arrived in Ghana, ahead of Asamoah Gyan's book launch slated on April 30.

The former Liverpool forward was welcomed by man-of-the-moment Gyan when he touched down at the airport.

In a post on the video-sharing app Youtube, the African football legends were greeted by beautiful Ghanaian ladies clad in popular traditional wear - kente.

Diouf extols Ghana legend Gyan

Senegalese football great El Hadji Diouf has extolled the abilities of Ghana's leading all-time top scorer, Asamoah Gyan.

The ex-Liverpool star heaped praise on the legendary Ghanaian striker, describing him as one of the best strikers he has seen.

Gyan carved a niche for himself as one of the deadliest strikers on the continent, particularly for the Black Stars.
