“I’m very happy for the boys that they beat City. I couldn’t watch because we were on the bus. I have a lot of faith in the boys and the coach that they’ll get back to the top,” Mané said.

The Bayern Munich star could not watch the game because he was on the team bus returning from their game against SC Freiburg. Mané scored one goal as Bayern ran riot to secure a 5-0 victory.

The win sees the Bavarian side climb to second in the Bundesliga, four points behind Union Berlin, Eurosport reported.

Ballon d'Or: Sadio Mane wins Socrates Award after philanthropic works in Senegal

Senegal and Bayern Munich forward Sadio Mané clinched the Socrates Award, the very first winner of the award at the 2022 edition of the Ballon d'Or ceremony.

The Socrates Prize, a novel award in the history of the awards, identifies the best social initiative by a committed champion, Sports Brief reported.

Mané has carved a niche for himself as a champion both on and off the field. The Senegal international has been described by many as a man with a 'golden heart' owing to his humanitarian works.
