Arsene Wenger has blamed Sadio Mane's departure from Liverpool as the cause of the club's struggles in the new season.
Liverpool hit another low over the weekend after drawing 3-3 at Anfield against Brighton in the English Premier League.
And the French tactician believes Mane could have made the difference if Liverpool had kept the Senegalese in the summer transfer window.
"It's difficult to understand," Wenger told beIN Sports as quoted by The Guardian. "They have the same core [group of players], same type of game.

"They are less efficient in winning the ball back than before. [Darwin] Nunez, at the moment, hasn't worked out for them and they've made a big investment. He's sitting on the bench.
"They lost Mane, who was a top-level, big-game player. He had something [about him], an aggressive attitude and determination. He'd score no matter what happens, he'd make things happen.
"It's difficult to measure how much [his departure] takes away. They miss something they had before."
Sadio Mane spent six seasons at Liverpool, winning the English Premier League and the UEFA Champions League. Mane, in his last season, helped the Merseyside outfit win the FA Cup and the Carabao Cup.
The 2021 AFCON winner scored his fourth Bundesliga goal in eight matches as Bayern Munich thrashed Bayer Leverkusen last Friday, 4-0.
