Darwin Nunez has rendered an unqualified apology following his red card incident during Liverpool's 1-1 draw with Crystal Palace.
Nunez had a home debut to forget when the Liverpool hitman was given his marching orders by referee Paul Tierney after headbutting Palace defender Andersen.
The 23-year-old ex-Benfica striker was rewarded with his first start following his goal-scoring exploits on his Premier League debut last weekend.
But his dream debut in front of the vociferous Anfield crowd reached an anti-climax when he received a straight red card for retaliating to the taunts of Palace centre-half Andersen.

Footages of the game showed several moments Andersen tried to get into the head of the Uruguayan forward and his antics reached full circle when Nunez finally reacted with a headbutt in the 57th minute.
Darwin's moment of madness has since drawn widespread criticisms with many slamming the attacker for his unsportsmanlike conduct.
But barely 24 hours after his uneventful Anfield debut, Nunez took to social media to express his regrets over his actions.
The Uruguayan attacking sensation is likely to miss at least Liverpool's league games against Manchester United and Bournemouth.
