Trent Alexander-Arnold has praised Liverpool teammate Sadio Mane on his latest accomplishment after winning the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations with Senegal.
Mane went from a villain to hero after missing a first half penalty to convert the winner in the shootouts as Senegal beat Egypt 4-2 to lift the trophy for the first time.
Ahead of Liverpool's game against Leicester City in the Premier League on Thursday night, the England defender described Mane as an amazing human being.
"And then as for Sadio and Senegal, you've just got to smile at it. The whole story of the final, with Sadio missing a pen then at the end being the hero, it was the perfect story, it's nothing less than what he deserves. I can't say enough good words about Sadio," Alexander-Arnold told Liverpoolfc.com.
