Daniel Amartey was in action as he helped Leicester City to book a spot in the Europa Conference League quarter-final on Thursday night.
The Ghanaian international played a crucial role in defence which ensured that the Foxes progressed to the last eight of the competition despite a 2-1 loss to Stade Rennes.
Leicester romped to a 2-0 victory over the French at the King Power Stadium last week, thanks to strikes from Marc Albrighton and Kelechi Iheanacho.
But their advantage was halved early in the first half courtesy of a simple finish from Benjamin Bourigeaud. Leicester equalised through But 21-year-old central defender Fofana after he glanced in a header from Ademola Lookman's corner.
Rennes restored their lead on the night when Flavien Tait's low strike made it 2-1 with 14 minutes to play.
How Amartey fared against Rennes
Amartey starred in defence and played the entirety of the game for Leicester City but they were not able to keep a clean sheet against Rennes.
The 27-yer-old made six clearances, one interception, delivered one shot on target and won three duels with a rating of 6.7, per Sofascore.
Ghanaian Defender Leads Leicester City to Face Stade Rennes
Sports Brief earlier reported that Ghana international Daniel Amartey was part of the Leicester City team that traveled to face French club Stade Rennes on Thursday.
The Black Stars defender will be in action when the Foxes face their French counterparts in the second leg round of 16 UEFA Europa Conference League fixture.
