Lungelo Msweli has put his name forth for the DStv Diski Challenge goal of the season for the 2022/23 campaign.

Incredibly, Msweli had just been substituted on the field just seconds earlier, meaning that was his first touch of the game.

Fittingly, he sealed a 3-1 victory for the Rich Boyz with another stunner late in the match, in what was a bona fide super-sub performance.

Mfundi Ngema had put Richards Bay in the lead with a first-half penalty. With the game all but lost at 3-0, Simphiwe Sithole grabbed a consolation goal in the dying minutes of the grudge match.

Xoki's miss of the season

While Msweli was scoring a sensational goal in one part of KwaZulu-Natal, Tapelo Xoki was embarrassing himself in another, Sports Brief reported.

In a DStv Premiership encounter between Orlando Pirates and Richards Bay FC, the Buccaneers defender was guilty of a miss that will go down in history.

With the goal at his mercy after the Rich Boyz' goalkeeper, Malcolm Jacobs parried a shot into his path, Xoki skied it from less than two metres away from goal.

Man caught selling fake tickets

Meanwhile, there was drama at the stadium before kick-off after a fake ticket seller was apprehended while in the act of allegedly distributing counterfeit wares.

Sports Brief reported that journalist, Robin-Duke Madlala was on the scene as the individual was apprehended by security guards while peddling dodgy tickets.

He snapped several pictures of the counterfeiter being escorted off the premises and at the time of publication, the alleged crook's fate was yet to be established.
