Representatives from Orlando Pirates and Kaizer Chiefs made an appearance at the Premier Soccer League's offices in Parktown, Johannesburg.

Pirates coach Jose Riveiro, captain Innocent Maela, Chiefs boss Arthur Zwane and star player Keagan Dolly were there as part of a DStv Premiership Soweto Derby press conference.

Soccer City will be rocking this weekend as Orlando Pirates hosts Kaizer Chiefs in a DStv Premiership match on Saturday afternoon.

The two arch-enemies first met on 24 January in what would eventually become South African football's biggest match on the calendar. Sports Brief will hark back to memorable encounters between the Buccaneers and Amakhosi in the run-up to the match on 29 October.

In the 1970s, the teams began their rivalry with a sensational 10-goal thriller. A decade ago, Benni McCarthy made his mark in the only derby he ever took part in.

Knowledge Musona torches Orlando Pirates as Kaizer Chiefs runs riot

Saturday, 13 November 2010, will go down in history when Zimbabwean striker Knowledge Musona made himself a Kaizer Chiefs legend. Musona bagged a brace and forced an own-goal at Soccer City as the Amakhosi ran out 3-1 winners against the Buccaneers.

Hardly a month later, Chiefs would thump their opponents 3-0 in the Telkom Knockout final as Ruud Krol and his men could not find an answer to Vladimir Vermezovic's charges. However, the men from Orlando would have the final laugh.

At the end of that season, they would end up winning a historic treble, before three-peating the feat a year later.
