Ace 'Mr Spot On' Ncobo discusses validity of Kaizer Chiefs striker Caleb Bimenyimana's hat-trick of penalties

Former FIFA referee and resident SuperSport analyst Andile 'Ace' Ncobo has given his thoughts on a historic occurrence last Sunday.

As reported by Sports Brief, 'Mr Spot On' dissected the validity of three penalties that Kaizer Chiefs were awarded in a dramatic DStv Premiership encounter against Stellenbosch FC. Amakhosi striker Caleb Bimenyimana - who won two of them - scored all three for a historic hat-trick.

Speaking on Extra Time, Ncobo said after Maroons defender Mogamad de Goede brought down the Burundian:

"The referee, having been correctly positioned, [gave the] right decision, whether the penalty was soft, medium or hard-boiled like eggs. Spot-on decision by the referee."

The second penalty was as straightforward as they come, with Fawaaz Basadien inexcusably handling the ball in the box.

As for the third one, de Goede brought down Bimenyimana as he bore down with just the Stellenbosch goalkeeper to beat. The former was adjudicated to have committed a professional foul, with the referee showing him a straight red card for his efforts.
