  • Kaizer Chiefs coach Arthur Zwane has made a most staggering of claims of behind-the-scenes goings-on at the club
  • The club is entering its eighth year without a trophy, the longest drought since it was established in 1970
  • Because of this and other players, Zwane said some players faked being injured to get out of the scorching limelight

Kaizer Chiefs coach Arthur Zwane has made a most startling revelation which will unsettle those connected to the club.

Zwane said that some players at the club have faked injuries to escape the pressure come crunch time. The Amakhosi are now seven years without having won any silverware, which is the longest in the club's history, something he reckons weighs them down psychologically and mentally.

According to the Sunday World, Zwane said:

"Some respond quicker and for some it will take time. So, for players, when the going gets tough, they will hide, some will think maybe they are not good enough to be here. And when they find themselves in these situations, they fake injuries."

"It’s not for the first time, it has been happening for many years, even when I was still a player – good players would come to Chiefs and some of them would fake injuries and some would choose games.”

Fikile Mbalula defends Kaizer Chiefs defender Siyabonga Ngezana for "philosophy" pronunciation gaffe

Minister of Transport Fikile Mbalula will not stand for online bullying.

As reported by Sports Brief, the former minister for Sports, Arts and Culture chastised those on social media who mocked Kaizer Chiefs defender Siyabonga Ngezana for pronouncing the word "philosophy" incorrectly during an old post-match interview. Seemingly, this was petty fans using it to punish him for his recent struggles in the team as it continues to look for consistency.

Coach Arthur Zwane has commendably stood up to shield the under-fire Ngezana from his harsh critics. his comment came following Kaizer Chiefs' flat performance against Cape Town City, when the Amakhosi were thoroughly outplayed in a 2-0 loss at the DHL Cape Town Stadium. Unfortunately, Ngezana was patently at fault for both of City's goals.
