FootballDumisani Zuma Said to Have Fallen Out With Kaizer Chiefs Interim Coach Arthur Zwane Amidst Latest Suspension
- Kaizer Chiefs forward Dumisani Zuma is allegedly the target of marginalisation according to a gossip piece in the media
- This comes after Zuma was suspended yesterday by the club, though the reason was not divulged
- This is the second time he has been sidelined at Naturena, having been suspended earlier in the season for driving under the influence
The matter of Dumisani Zuma's troubled time at Kaizer Chiefs has taken a more sinister turn.
The 26-year-old midfielder was mysteriously suspended for a second time by the club yesterday. This was after he was put on ice back in November last year after facing charges of alleged drunk driving.
Now, according to Soccer Laduma via a source in the club, Zuma is the target of a campaign in which he is being treated poorly in comparison to the other players as a disappointing season comes to an end.
The publication's source said that Zuma - a goalscorer in the Amakhosi 2-1 surrender against Cape Town City last Saturday - and interim coach Arthur Zwane were involved in an argument, which resulted in him being forced to train alone away from the squad.
After an intervention by higher-ups, Zwane was backed in whatever led to the incident, leaving Zuma in a spot of bother. According to the article, it appears that Zuma has fallen out of favour with Zwane despite having featured him in every match since the latter took over two weeks ago following Stuart Baxter's firing.
Zuma's agent Basia Michaels to the SABC in response to her client's latest suspension:
“It’s is very disappointing to find out something this important via Twitter. We haven’t received any formal communication from the Club with regards to what has been said about my client."
