Speculation is rife about where Bongani Zungu will play his football next season.
The South African midfielder is currently signed to Amiens SC in the French Ligue 2, but his contract with the club expires at the end of the season.
Controversies and criticism have marred Zungu’s time at the French club and even during his loan spell at Rangers in Scotland. Despite this, Zungu admitted last month that management asked him to consider extending his contract at the club. Zungu then asked for time to decide, The South African reported.
Amiens SC have since agreed to meet with the player’s agent as they seek to retain his services. Zungu has backed himself to perform no matter where he plays his football next season, KickOff reported.
"I'm a good player, I know that, and if I invest myself and work hard, I can find a club in Ligue 1 or anywhere else in the world. It's an option if we can't come to an agreement during the discussions."
Zungu added that Amiens would have a special place in his heart no matter what happens.
Kaizer Chiefs have long been linked with the player and have previously tried to sign him. However, should the player choose not to renew his stint in France, the Amakhosi will be keen to snap up the talented player’s signature.
