  • Kaizer Chiefs and the Premier Soccer League are still engaged in a legal battle over two fixtures in December
  • The Premier Soccer League's prosecutor Zola Majavu is currently dealing with the Kaizer Chiefs case
  • Zola Majavu could not provide a time frame for when the matter between the Premier Soccer League and Kaizer Chiefs would be resolved

The Premier Soccer League's (PSL) new prosecutor Zola Majavu has said that he is currently dealing with the Kaizer Chiefs case but cannot provide a time frame for when this will be resolved.

Kaizer Chiefs and the PSL are at loggerheads after Chiefs could not play two fixtures in December 2022 after a Covid19 outbreak at the club. The team applied to the PSL to have all five of their December fixtures postponed but this was denied.

Chiefs were then forced to honour the three other games during December but are embroiled in a battle with the PSL to not have the two games they missed, forfeited.

The matter is currently before Majavu. Speaking to the Sowetan LIVE he added that he could not be drawn on a time frame for dealing with the matter.

“I am dealing with the matter. I will make my decision once I am ready. I don’t know when I will make the decision on the matter because I am still waiting for some information. I can’t be drawn into time frames and things like that," he said.

According to Sport24 Kaizer Chiefs have beefed up their legal team as they look to take on the PSL. Chiefs have since hired Norman Arendse as they look to take on the PSL's decision to punish them for not honouring two of their fixtures.

Ayanda Patosi linked with return to South Africa, Kaizer Chiefs and Orlando Pirates interested in player

Former Cape Town City midfielder Ayanda Patosi has been linked with a spectacular return to South African football with Orlando Pirates and Kaizer Chiefs both showing interest in the player, Sports Brief reported.

Patosi currently plays for Foolad in Iran but his contract expires in June 2022. Speaking to KickOff Patosi confirmed that his contract was expiring in June and that they hadn't discussed anything as yet. He also praised Foolad for treating him so well during his time in Iran.

Despite being happy where he currently is, Patosi added that he would be open to a return home. While Patosi admitted that was nothing concrete as yet in terms of offers, The South African reported that Kaizer Chiefs are in 'advanced talks' with the midfielder.
