Juventus legend Giorgio Chiellini has been afforded an emotional farewell ahead of his departure from the club.

Chiellini is understood to have played his last match for Juve during their 2-2 draw with Lazio on Monday night, May 16, in the Serie A.

The 37-year-old was subbed off in the 17th minute of the match to signify the 17 years he has spent with the Italian club.

The Sun reports the special gesture was marked with a wave of applause from the Allianz Stadium faithful, with Juventus fans rising to their feet to give the Italy international a standing ovation.

The supporters could be heard shouting Chiellini's name as Lazio players joined in applauding the legendary defender.

Chiellini, who was emotional and soaked up at this point responded by gesturing to the fans as he hugged the majority of his teammates as he made his way off the pitch.

Paulo Dybala reduced to tears during Juve farewell

Incredibly Chiellini was not the only Juve player who was playing his last match for the club.

Paulo Dybala was the other player who got some minutes under his belt during the clash as he bid the fans farewell.

The Argentine star was reduced to tears as he said goodbye to the fanbase ahead of his summer exit.

Ivan Perisic set for Chelsea move

Earlier, Sports Brief reported Ivan Perisic is only a few steps away from completing a sensational summer move to Chelsea.

Perisic is said to be on the verge of departing the Italian club after failing to reach a deal with Inter over a new deal.
