Former Black Stars captain, Asamoah Gyan joined the 66th Independence Day celebrations of Ghana after sharing a moment draped in traditional wear.
The 36-year-old, one of Ghana's greatest sporting icons, celebrated the day as the West African nation turned 66.
Ghana gained independence from British colonial rule on March 6, 1957.
In a post on social media, Gyan shared a special message with Ghanaians and a photo of himself in a Kente cloth.

"Happy Independence day everyone," he wrote on Twitter.
Ghana has won four Africa Cup of Nations titles since 1957 and are the only country from Africa to win the FIFA U20 World Cup.
Among other successes are winning the FIFA U17 World Cup twice as well as winning gold in football at the All-Africa Games in 2011.

Former Black Stars players, led by ex-captain, Asamoah Gyan and midfielder, Sulley Muntari have visited the family of Christian Atsu following the death of the player.
The winger tragically passed away following a devastating earthquake that hit Turkey and Syria on February 6.
After 12 days of being trapped under rubble, Atsu's body was recovered on February 18.
