Twum admitted there was pressure on the country's FA to appoint a coach right for the job.

"We are not looking at race or colour, but just a competent coach. Over 1000 coaches have applied for the job. We keep getting applications each and every day."

The Black Stars are expected to have a new coach by the end of the month, as preparations begin ahead of the AFCON 2023 qualifiers in March.

Earlier, Sports Brief reported on Kwesi Appiah confirming he applied for the vacant job as the senior coach of Ghana's national team.

According to reports in the country, the experienced manager dropped his application this week. The Black Stars have been without a coach since Addo stepped down after the 2022 World Cup.
