Legendary Ghanaian forward Asamoah Gyan has named his all-time five-a-side team, which includes himself.

The 37-year-old, who is yet to formally hang up his boots, named a team made of former players.

The ex-captain of the Black Stars is currently in South Africa, working as a pundit for sports broadcaster SuperSport.

In a video shared on Twitter, the player - who was asked to name a combined Portugal and Ghana team of five - chose only Ghanaian players.

Gyan included himself alongside former Black Stars captains Abedi Pele, Stephen Appiah and John Mensah. The former Sunderland striker also added Chelsea legend Michael Essien.

"A team of all-time?" he replied to the question. "Abedi Pele, John Mensah, Stephen Appiah, Michael Essien and myself."

Abedi Pele, the father of Andre and Jordan Ayew, is revered in Ghana following his exploits with the national team. He won the 1982 Africa Cup of Nations and was three-time African Footballer of the Year.

Meanwhile, Mensah, Appiah and Essien played with Gyan in the Black Stars and were part of the first Ghana team to qualify for the FIFA World Cup.

Gyan last played for Ghana Premier League side Legon Cities and is yet to announce his retirement from the game.

Sports Brief also reported that Gyan returned to the pitch for the first time in months, after featuring for SuperSport in a fun game against legends of Kaizer Chiefs.

The Ghana legend is in South Africa working as a pundit for the sports broadcaster for the 2022 World Cup in Qatar. Gyan missed the tournament after failing to make the Black Stars squad.

However, the 37-year-old showed his lasting quality, after joining a group of pundits to face off against iconic figures from AmaKhosi's past.

Gyan shared words of encouragement with Black Stars captain Andre Ayew, following his missed penalty against Uruguay.

The Al Sadd forward missed the chance to give Ghana the lead after his spot kick was saved by Sergio Roche, as the South Americans went on to eliminate the Black Stars from the World Cup.

Ayew was replaced after the break, as the four-time African champions struggled against the former World Cup winners.
