Antoine Semenyo has revealed that his parents were in tears after he broke the news of his inclusion in the Black Stars squad for the 2022 FIFA World Cup.
The Bristol City forward is one of the strikers named in Otto Addo's team for the tournament in Qatar.
Following the official announcement of the team on Monday, Semenyo spoke to Bristol City about what the World Cup meant for him and his family.
“It hasn’t sunk in yet. It feels so real. I received a call on Monday saying that I have been selected, I was rolling around in the house, and I was excited,” he told Bristol City on Twitter.

Semenyo said his family was just as excited as he was, with both of his parents crying after learning he would be at the World Cup.
“It was big for them just like it is for me,” he added.
Semenyo is having a decent season at Bristol City, having scored 4 goals in 18 games across all competitions.
The lanky forward has been on the radar of several clubs including Crystal Palace and Glasgow Rangers.
He made his Black Stars debut in June this year, coming on as a second half substitute against Madagascar in the Africa Cup of Nations qualifier.
Semenyo is expected to line up alongside Inaki Williams in the attack of the Black Stars at the World Cup.

The Black Stars are expected to arrive in Qatar this week, and Ghanaian football fans have been spotted jamming ahead of the World Cup in the Middle East country.
In a video posted on social media, hundreds of fans took to Qatar's capital to sing and dance, as they build up the excitement ahead of the competition.
