Ghana Legend Sulley Muntari Gets Emotional As He Opens Up on the Death of His Mother

Legendary Ghanaian midfielder Sulley Muntari says he is yet to come to terms with the passing of his beloved mother, Hajia Kande.

The former Inter Milan star lost his mother in May last year.

Muntari, whose mother was supportive of his career, almost broke down in tears as he opened up on the void left in his life by her passing.

"I haven't accepted it yet. I don't think I will because she took a huge part of me. She was my everything, she is my everything and now she has given me the strength to take care of my siblings which I was ready for," he told Dan Kwaku Yeboah TV on YouTube.

Muntari's mother is famous for publicly defending her son during the 2014 World Cup debacle, where the midfielder reportedly fought a Black Stars management member.

The 37-year-old returned to Ghana last year to play for topflight side Accra Hearts of Oak, helping the Phobians win the President Cup and the FA Cup.

Muntari enjoyed an illustrious career abroad, winning several titles including the 2010 UEFA Champions League in 2010. He was part of Inter Milan's 2010 treble winning team.

The 2008 English FA Cup winner with Portsmouth last played for the Black Stars of Ghana at the 2014 World Cup.
