Kwesi Nyantakyi has revealed that he knelt down to beg for Sulley Muntari to be included in the Ghana squad for the 2010 FIFA World Cup in South Africa.
Despite winning the UEFA Champions League in 2010 with Inter Milan, Muntari was not in coach Milovan Rajevac's plan for the tournament.
And according to Kwesi Nyantakyi, he had to persuade the Serbian trainer to send Muntari to the World Cup in Qatar.
“Yes, in 2010 I did it. I did it twice, not even once,” the former GFA President told Joy Sports as quoted by Pulse.

Muntari scored the opener in the famous quarter-final clash against Uruguay at the Soccer City stadium in Johannesburg.
However, Diego Forlan's equalizer forced the game to extra time, where Asamoah Gyan missed the opportunity to make Ghana the first team on the continent to reach the last four.
Ghana lost the game on penalties as Uruguay progressed at the expense of the four time African champions.
Muntari has played in three World Cups for Ghana, starting in 2006 to 2014.
The Black Stars return to the Mundial in Qatar this November and they have been paired alongside Portugal, Uruguay and South Korea.
