The Black Stars have been dealt a massive injury blow as deputy skipper Thomas Partey is set to miss Ghana's 2023 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers next month.
Partey sustained muscle damage in a Premier League fixture against Jordan Ayew's Crystal Palace in February and is currently recuperating.
Despite returning to full-scale training at Arsenal, the midfield linchpin will miss next month's qualifiers and international friendlies, according to reports emerging in the local media.
According to the reports, English Premier League outfit Arsenal is believed to have requested the midfielder will be excused from the upcoming international games.
His absence will be a major blow to the coach Otto Addo, who was confirmed as the head of a four-man technical team to supervise the senior men's national team till December.
Ghana will square off against Madagascar on June 1 before playing the Central Africa Republic four days later.
The Black Stars will also be involved in the Kirin Cup tournament in Japan next month as part of preparations for the World Cup.

Earlier, Sports Brief reported that Ghana international Thomas Partey has resumed training at Arsenal after making full recovery from his injury.
The Black Stars deputy captain suffered muscle damage to his thigh in a Premier League game against Crystal Palace in February and was set to be out for a longer duration.
But in a video posted on Twitter, spotted by Sports Brief, Partey was in a full training session with his Arsenal teammates ahead of Sunday's clash against Everton.
