- Ex-South footballer Ahn Jung-hwan has revealed the Black Stars will be the most difficult team to analyze at the World Cup
- The Black Stars have been drawn in Group H alongside Jung-hwan's Korea Republic, Portugal and familiar foes Uruguay in the World Cup, which will be played later this year
- Despite being the least ranked team at the 2022 World Cup, the Black Stars will hope to cause big upsets as they make a return to the Mundial after missing out on the last edition
Retired South Korean international Ahn Jung-hwan is of the opinion that the Black Stars of Ghana will be the most difficult team to analyze ahead of the 2022 FIFA World Cup.
Jung-hwan, a veteran of three World Cups, says the unpredictability of the Black Stars team makes it difficult for any opposition to make a proper assessment of the four-time African champions.
The former footballer's conviction about the Black Stars stems from the large pool of players used during the qualification stage coupled with the uncertainty surrounding the coaching role of the West African nation.
Despite admitting Ghana's unpredictability Jung-hwan, famed in the Korea Republic for scoring the golden goal against Italy in the 2002 World Cup, favours Portugal and Uruguay to progress from the group stages.
“Portugal and Uruguay are highly likely to advance to the round of 16. If I can’t catch Ghana, I will fall unconditionally. It would have been better if we had met in the first round, but it’s a pity.” He said as quoted by Ghanasoccernet.
“Ghana is the most difficult team to analyze. The entire list may change.” He ended.
Ghana is the least ranked country in the upcoming global showpiece but the West African nation will be unfazed by the odds against them having progressed to the knockout stages of the competition in two of their three appearances at the World Cup.
