Legendary Ghanaian striker Asamoah Gyan has opened up on how Turkish outfit Kayserispor observes a strange club ritual prior to home games.
Gyan, Ghana's all-time leading scorer with 51 goals, had a two-year stint with the Kayserispor, which was marred by niggling injuries.
In an interview with Accra-based Angel FM, the former Black Stars captain shed light on some of the club's unusual pre-game rituals.
“I saw a lot because, before we play home matches, they had to slaughter a sheep in front of the team bus before it set off to the stadium.” Gyan said as quoted by angelonline.

FootballDue to the recurring injuries in Turkey, Gyan mustered a paltry five goals in 26 matches, a far cry from his usually prolific nature.
The well-travelled striker further disclosed a similar situation during his time with India top-flight club NorthEast United, where the entire team visited a powerful shrine before the start of one of their season.
He is currently unattached after the expiration of his contract with Ghana Premier League side Legon Cities last year but has stressed he has not retired yet.
Earlier, Sports Brief reported that Emmanuel Bentil, captain of the victorious Black Starlets team in 1995, has made a shocking revelation about how several players from that team failed to reach their potential following their success in Ecuador.
The team that defeated Brazil in the final to win Ghana's second U17 World Cup had several top players including the darling boy Awudu Issaka, Baba Sule and Stephen Appiah.
In an interview with Lifestyle TV, Bentil opened up on how the team consulted marine spirits to aid them to win the cup.
