Friends and family of Ghana's interim coach Otto Addo have thrown a celebratory party for the Borussia Dortmund scout and trainer after his heroic achievement with the Black Stars.

Otto Addo stepped in to lead the Black Stars in the World Cup play-offs against Nigeria last month, and after the two-legged encounter, Ghana sealed qualification to Qatar 2022.

Having arrived in Germany a week ago, his wife, friends and family surprised him with a party as they congratulated him for the magnificent performance by Ghana against Nigeria.

Otto Addo, who was overwhelmed by the love showed to him, took to Instagram to thank veryone including former Ghana teammate Hans Sarpei and his club Dortmund.

"First, I want to thank god, cause that’s where I look up to! He has graced my life with many blessings. I want to thank my family, my FRIENDS my mother, my kids and especially my wife Gloria,. You are my rock, my inspiration," he wrote.
"Special thanks to Dennis for organising, the Anthonys for using your restaurant drinks and food, Gerald Asamoah for food & pictures !!! Thanks for the love and your support in good and in bad times. Big thanks also to Dortmund, for allowing me to serve my homeland," he added.

Otto Addo became the first person to play at the World Cup and also lead the Black Stars to the global showpiece.

The former Dortmund player is yet to agree on a contract extension with the Black Stars due to his engagement with the German Bundesliga side.

Otto Addo returns to Dortmund after World Cup qualifiers

Earlier, Sports Brief reported that Otto Addo is basking in the glory of qualifying Ghana for the 2022 FIFA World Cup upon his official return to Borussia Dortmund.

The 46-year-old trainer guided the West African nation to its fourth World Cup when his tactical masterclass upstaged Nigeria in a two-legged tie.

In a post on Twitter, spotted by Sports Brief, Dortmund welcomed their technical staff after he became the second Ghanaian to qualify the nation for the Mundial.
