France-born Ghanaian defender, Alexander Djiku is already looking forward to the World Cup in Qatar this year after his impressive display against Nigeria helped the Black Stars make a return to the global showpiece.
The Strasbourg center-back was in scintillating form in the two-legged play-off against Nigeria, keeping the star-studded attacking line of Nigeria, which included Napoli's hitman Victor Osimhen, at bay.
In a post on Twitter, Djiku expressed delight in Ghana's qualification and also thanked the fans for their immense support for the Black Stars.
"Amazing. Qatar We Are Coming. Thank you for your support. Thank you God," he posted on Twitter.
Djiku has been ever-present in the Black Stars team since agreeing to play for the African country in 2020. He played a vital role in Ghana's World Cup qualification from the group stages to the play-off.
He was also one of Ghana's best players at a poor Africa Cup of Nations in Cameroon early this year.
The 27-year-old has been a key cog in Strasbourg's campaign in the French Ligue 1 this season, netting his first goal in the 1-0 win against AS Monaco.
"There is nothing better in football than a World Cup," Djiku told Sky Sports News before the second leg of the play off against Nigeria.
"To experience it would just be magical. We do this job to experience magical moments."

The West African football powerhouses renew their rivalry this week, with a place at the FIFA World Cup later this year at stake.
In a post on Twitter, the Strasbourg defender stated the team is ready for the games on Friday and Tuesday.
