Black Stars and Swindon Town shot-stopper Jojo Wollacott produced a goalkeeping masterclass as Ghana clinched one of Africa's five tickets to the 2022 World Cup.
The 25-year-old goalkeeper proved to be a barrier against the star-studded Nigerian attack in a nerve-shredding return leg between the two West African rivals.
Ghana held their Nigerian counterparts in a 1-1 stalemate to book their fourth appearance at the World Cup.
How did Ghana qualify for Qatar 2022?
With the game locked at 0-0 from the first leg, the Black Stars needed to avoid defeat and pull a score draw in order to return to the global showpiece after missing out on the 2018 World Cup.
It was the Black Stars that drew first blood through talisman Thomas Partey after just nine minutes.
A neat combination play from Jordan Ayew, Gideon Mensah and Partey saw the Arsenal man release an unstoppable piledriver from the edge of the box beyond Francis Uzoho to silence the home crowd.
However, the home crowd found their voice when skipper William Troost Ekong dispatched a well-taken penalty three minutes after the half-hour mark.
But it proved to be the last goal of a gruelling contest between the age-long rivals despite the huff and puff by the Super Eagles.
