Ghanaian winger Kamaldeen Sulemana is injured at Stade Rennes and had to forfeit their game against Troyes at the Roazhon Park on Sunday.
The 20-year-old suffered back pain, according to the club's head coach, and missed out on their 4-1 victory over Troyes in the French Ligue 1.
“Kamaldeen Sulemana is out for a back problem,” coach Bruno Genesio said at the pre-match presser.
Sulemana's return is not clear yet but the club is confident that the enterprising winger will not be on the sidelines for a long period.
He was part of the humiliating Ghana team that disgraced themselves during the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations tournament in Cameroon earlier this year.
How Sulemana has fared for Rennes
Sulemana joined Stade Rennes from Nordsjaelland last summer and he has netted four times in 20 appearances so far.
He has not started a game for his side since December, 12 2021, when they lost 2-1 at home to defending champions, Lille.
Sulemana has also not scored since October 17, 2021 against Metz.

Highly-rated Ghanaian footballer, Kamaldeen Sulemana, could be on his way to Liverpool in the next transfer window, according to reports in the UK.
The talented 19-year-old forward has attracted interest from the Reds following his explosive start to life in the French Ligue 1 with Stade Rennes.
According to The Athletic, Liverpool want the Ghanaian as plans begin for life after Sadio Mane, Mohammed Salah and Firminio.
