Chris Hughton, who is expected to be named coach of the Black Stars, has already initiated steps to convince Chelsea star Callum Hudson-Odoi to play for Ghana.

The former Brighton and Hove Albion manager reportedly met the father of Hudson-Odoi in Accra, as they held talks over the winger's possible nationality switch.

Hudson-Odoi has been in Ghana for a short break, and it is believed the UEFA Champions League winner met Chris Hughton about his international career.

The Ghana Football Association are confident Chris Hughton's appointment will help in the process of convincing English-born Ghanaian players to don the jersey of the Black Stars.
