Chris Hughton, who is expected to be named coach of the Black Stars, has already initiated steps to convince Chelsea star Callum Hudson-Odoi to play for Ghana.

The former Brighton and Hove Albion manager reportedly met the father of Hudson-Odoi in Accra, as they held talks over the winger's possible nationality switch.

Hudson-Odoi has been in Ghana for a short break, and it is believed the UEFA Champions League winner met Chris Hughton about his international career.

The Ghana Football Association are confident Chris Hughton's appointment will help in the process of convincing English-born Ghanaian players to don the jersey of the Black Stars.

Tariq Lamptey and Eddie Nketiah are other players set to switch from England and play for Ghana.

Earlier, SportsBrief.com reported that, Chris Hughton has arrived in Accra ahead of a meeting with the Ghana Football Association over the vacant Black Stars coaching job.

The former Brighton and Hove Albion manager has been linked with the Black Stars job following the dismissal of Milovan Rajevac after a disappointing Africa Cup of Nations.

In a photo posted on Twitter, sighted by SportsBrief.com, the 63-year-old was spotted with a pal before this week's reported meeting with the FA.

Former Brighton coach linked with Ghana job

Chris Hughton, the former manager of English Premier League clubs, Norwich and Brighton, has popped up on the radar of the Ghana Football Association as a candidate for the vacant Black Stars coaching job.

The GFA sacked Serbian trainer, Milovan Rajevac, after a poor Africa Cup of Nation showing in Cameroon.

And according tp a report by myjoyonline, Chris Hughton has been earmarked as the man to replace Milovan Rajevac.
