Daniel Quaye, a member of Ghana's 2006 World Cup squad, has been left furious after the Black Stars were held to a 1-1 draw by Gabon at the Nations Cup.
The ex-Hearts of Oak player picked captain Andre Ayew for blame, insisting his indecision in a two on one situation, where he could have passed forward Joseph Painstil to give Ghana the two goal lead cost the country.
In an interview with Happy FM, Quaye slammed Andre, saying the Black Stars does not belong to his father, Abedi Pele.
“What was Andre Ayew thinking when he could have passed the ball to Joseph Paintsil to score the second goal?” he quizzed during an interview with Accra based Happy FM.
“It was a clear goal-scoring opportunity for the Black Stars but Andre Ayew decided to keep the ball to himself. We must let Andre understand that the Black Stars is not for his father," he added.
Dan Quaye described the Al Sadd player as selfish, insisting he loves personal glory than helping the Black Stars team.
Andre Ayew is Ghana's leading scorer at the Africa Cup of Nations history, with ten goals since making his debut in 2008.
The 32-year old was part of the Black Stars team that reached the 2010 and 2015 AFCON finals, and he is hoping to end Ghana's AFCON drought.

FootballEarlier, SportsBrief.com reported that, Ghana's Andre Ayew has been handed the Man of the Match award after the Black Stars' draw against Gabon in the second group C game at the Africa Cup of Nations.
The 32-year-old netted stunner to break the game's deadlock in the 18th minute, but the West African giants failed to win the match after Jim Allevinah's 88th minute strike ensured the game ended in a draw.
In photos posted on Twitter, the Ghanaian forward is seen receiving his award despite the disappointment of seeing his goal cancelled by the Gabonese.
