Head coach of Ghana, Milovan Rajevac has finally reacted to the Black Stars' defeat to the Atlas Lions of Morocco in Group C of the Africa Cup of Nations.
The four times African champions had a false start to the tournament after an 83rd minute strike from Sofiane Boufal handed Morocco all three points at the expense of Ghana.
In the post match press conference, the Serbian trainer insisted the Black Stars were unlucky to lose to the game.
"It was a tough match and we were expecting that because Morocco is one of the best teams on the continent and it was also the opening match of the group,” said Milovan Rajevac after the game.
“We did not take our chances in the game and I think the Moroccans were lucky in the end. We were expecting the game to end in a draw.
“I want to congratulate the Moroccans on their win and my boys for fighting really hard. We have two matches left in the group so we have to concentrate on them so we can progress to the next stage.”
The Black Stars will next face Gabon on Friday, January 14, 2021 before a final group game against Comoros Island next Tuesday.
Ghana will be hoping to get their campaign on track with victory against the Panthers of Gabon, who could be welcoming captain Pierre Emerick Aubamayeng back to the team.

Earlier, SportsBrief.com reported that, captain of Ghana's senior national football team, Andre Ayew has admitted not feeling well days before the opening Group C game against Morocco at the Africa Cup of Nations.
The Al Sadd star revealed he had to force himself to feature against the North Africans because his teammates needed his leadership on the pitch. However, that did not work as a late Sofiane Boufal goal sunk the Black Stars at the Ahmadou Ahidjo Stadium in Cameroon.
And despite the defeat, Ayew in a post match interview stated how confident he is the team will qualify to the next round.
