Black Stars forward, Abdul Fatawu Issahaku has promised Ghanaians the team will do its best to win the Africa Cup of Nations in Cameroon.
The West African football powerhouse has not win the tournament in 40 years and there is pressure on the current team to end the drought.
In an interview with the Ghana Football Association's media, the 17-year-old said the target is to win the ultimate.
“What Ghanaians should expect form me is just the cup… because every player if you are going for a tournament, your main target is the trophy,” the exciting youngster said.
“So I think, that's what I have for Ghanaians, they should expect the come from us,” he added.
The Black Stars are preparing for the tournament in Qatar, and on Wednesday night were engaged in a friendly against champions Algeria.
The four times African champions were whitewashed by the Desert Foxes at the Education City Stadium in Al Rayyan.
Abdul Fatawu Issahaku was one of the shining lights in a very poor team display.
The Black Stars are expected to leave Qatar on Thursday, January 7 for Cameroon ahead of the start of the Africa Cup of Nations.
The team has been drawn in Group C alongside Morocco, Gabon and debutants Comoros Island.
Ghana will open her AFCON campaign with a game against Morocco on Monday, January 10, 2022.
