Two Chelsea stars were spotted 'liking' an Instagram post announcing the sacking of Graham Potter as the club's manager.

Potter was handed his marching orders on April 2, barely hours after the Blues had suffered a 2-0 Premier League defeat against Aston Villa at Stamford Bridge.

The Englishman's sacking appeared at odds with a section of Chelsea fans, who believed the former Brighton & Hove Albion boss could still turn things around.

However, it now appears that most Blues fans had come around to the reality that Potter's sacking would be for the best - and it seems some players agreed as well.

This is according to the latest social media activity after it emerged the manager was no longer in charge at Stamford Bridge.

Chelsea stars 'like' Potter announcement

According to Sportbible, Chelsea duo Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Denis Zakaria liked an Instagram post announcing the departure of their manager.

Incidentally, both players had endured a tumultuous period under Potter, with the pair barely featuring on the pitch during his tenure.

The situation was so bad that reports indicated Auba could depart Stamford Bridge at the end of the season, barely one term after joining the west Londoners.

Meanwhile, it now remains to be seen who will come through the door at Chelsea to succeed Potter.

The Blues currently occupy 11th place on the Premier League standings with just 38 points.

Potter set for EPL return

In related news, Sports Brief reported that Potter lost his Chelsea job but is still highly-rated, at least by some other Premier League clubs.

The 47-year-old manager still has a number of potential suitors, one of them being Leicester City, according to stunning new reports.

In an interesting twist of fate, the Foxes are looking for a new manager after parting ways with Brendan Rodgers after four years in charge.
