Thomas Tuchel is reportedly plotting a Stamford Bridge raid to sign two Chelsea stars for Bayern Munich.

The former Chelsea manager succeeded Julian Nagelsmann, who was shockingly sacked on Friday, March 24.

Tuchel wants Chelsea duo

The former Paris Saint-Germain boss is said to have embarked on an elaborate plan to revamp the current Bayern squad at the end of the season.

Reports claim part of Tuchel's transfer plan is to raid Stamford Bridge once the transfer window opens.

According to Calciomercato, Mateo Kovacic and Edouard Mendy are targets for the tactician, with the duo tipped to leave Chelsea in the coming months.

Kovacic has been an influential player for the Blues since his arrival from Real Madrid in 2018.

However, his future is said to be up in the air, with Manchester City among the top teams keeping tabs on him.

Mendy, meanwhile, has had his fair share of struggles since helping Chelsea win the 2021 Champions League under Tuchel.

Injuries have taken a huge toll on the Senegalese this term, and has lost his spot between the sticks to Kepa Arrizabalaga.

Why Chelsea sacked Tuchel

Previously, Sports Brief reported that it has been close to six months since Thomas Tuchel was sacked by Chelsea.

It was a decision not many fans and pundits agreed with, as the new owners decided to bring in now-embattled Graham Potter as his replacement.

At the time of his sacking, the Blues weren't performing well, but co-owner, Todd Boehly revealed the German wasn't sacked entirely because of on-pitch results and rather because the club was being steered in a new direction - one which Tuchel was not seen as the right person to do.
