Chelsea spent £33m to sign 31-year-old experienced defender Kalidou Koulibaly from Serie A side Napoli to replace Antonio Rudiger, who left on a free transfer to Real Madrid in the summer.
The big defender was still struggling to adapt to life in England when the manager that endorsed his signing, Thomas Tuchel, was shown the exit and replaced by former Brighton manager Graham Potter.
The Senegalese international continues to struggle to adapt and recently lost his place to new signing Benoit Badiashile, but that has not tainted his relationship with the manager, whom he had good words to say about him.

“Graham Potter is very good at communicating with everyone. And he doesn’t care if you cost £100-million or £20-million. He will treat you in the same way. That’s the mark of a great manager,” he told Sun Sports.
This comes as no surprise that Potter is an excellent communicator. As reported by Athletic UK, he has a Master's degree in Emotional Intelligence and Leadership from Leeds Metropolitan University.
The AFCON 2021 winner also urged fans to be patient with him as he needs time to adapt, and he promised to show who he is during his three years contract at the club.

Thiago Silva ruled out for six weeks
Koulibaly has been presented with a chance to prove his experience and leadership in the absence of injured Brazilian defender Thiago Silva.
As Sports Brief reported, Silva is sidelined for six weeks after damaging knee ligaments after a collision with Tottenham's Harry Kane in the 2-0 defeat.
The former Napoli man would be expected to step up and lead young defenders Wesley Fofana, Trevoh Chalobah and Benoit Badiashile in Silva's absence.
